Jeff Buckley - "Hallelujah (Live In Chicago 1995)"

Having listened to the recorded version of this track, oh, about three million times, it was nice to see a performance not only that I hadn't heard, but to be able to watch as well. The man is intense in the best of ways, like some other worldly superhuman. I particularly like his lyrical riffing that begins at 6:32. It seems to be something Mr. Buckley was fond of doing, changing some lyrics in his live performances from the original recording. I really like that. I can't wait for the upcoming biopic to be completed. I really hope they do it right. It could be spectacular if they do.

1983 Fender Telecaster

I would like this guitar, please. Went shopping for one whilst back in Minnesota at Willie's American Guitars, but alas, it was not to be found. They did have some nice Telecasters on hand, but they were in the range of $3,000, and none were exactly what I was looking for, so the search continues. This is the same guitar Jeff Buckley spent much of his time playing, which just might have a little something to do with my desire to own one. So if you're still trying to find me that perfect birthday present, this will do.

Holly Miranda - "Lover, You Should Have Come Over"

Possibly my favorite song ever, definitely my favorite song to play, and oddly a very under-covered song. I mean I love "Hallelujah" as much as the next guy, but this song seems like it would have been covered by tons of people. Not so. Then again, it's kind of nice that I'm not forced to see American Idol contestants attempting to do this song justice. Some things are best kept secret.
