Teddy Tedholm
Last night while I was waiting for a commercial to end during the Lakers/Suns playoff game, I flipped the channel to So You Think You Can Dance at the exact moment an 18-year-old named Teddy Tedholm was beginning his audition for the show. I have literally never watched a single second of this show before, so I had no idea what to expect. From what I could tell of the commercials, it was a show that had lots of break dancers and people being silly and goofy and doing flips and whatnot. Basically like that MTV show America's Best Dance Crew but with individuals instead of groups.
Who knows, that could be how the rest of the show is; but boy am I glad I stumbled upon Mr. Tedholm's audition. Set to the song "Prague" by Damien Rice, his performance is startling and moving and raw. I must have watched it back seven or eight times. Skip to the 1:28 mark of the video to avoid all the junk before the audition, and be sure to watch the judges critique after he finishes. They seem to think he was pretty good, too.
