The Chemical Brothers - "The Pills Won't Help You Now"

In high school I had this dark blue Chemical Brother's T-shirt that I used to wear quite often. I saw someone wearing it a few months ago and thought how that was such a moment in time when the Chemical Brothers were very, very important and popular and how incredibly irrelevant they are to me–and I could only assume everyone else–now.

Then just the other week, Junna made me an excellent mix. When I asked her who one of my favorite songs on it was by, she told me it was The Chemical Brothers. I was a bit tickled and totally shocked and a little happy for them that they were not only still kicking, but that they had–at the very least–put out one really excellent song that represented a musical maturation from their 90's fame and glory of block rockin' beats to something a bit more Postal Service-like. Tim Smith from the band Midlake provides the beautiful vocals, which in a lot of ways makes the song, but hey it's technically still The Chemical Brothers. Have a listen above and see for yourself. I find myself listening to it several times in a row a couple times a day.

Maybe I can try to find that old T-shirt and give it another go around since it's actually probably authentically vintage at this point. Eh, maybe I'll just stick with this song for now.
