(Don't) Let It Drop
This clip from the movie She's All That is hands-down the most awkward scene in cinematic history. There is so much wrong with it, I really don't even know where to begin. I've never felt more embarrassed for someone than I do when I watch this. I mean, both for the character in the movie, for Freddie Prince Jr. because he put this on film and really tried his best, for the faux-beat poet fat guy with the chin hair and the beret, for the terrifying face paint Rachel Leigh Cook is wearing, for the way this scene is supposed to somehow make us feel like he's secretly so much more than a jock, and yes, this was performance art, this was accepted by this crowd of discerning, all-knowing art critics at the local strip mall coffee klatch and so it's good. Aaaaaaaah it drives me mad! I can barely even look at the screen while it's playing.
So. Un. Comfortable.
